Lady Cards crush the Lady Vikes

Tuesday, Jan 8, the girl’s basketball team took down the Lady Vikes in Treynor in what seemed to be a tight game at the beginning, but the girls exploded through the second half distancing the scores with a final of 60-33.


Starting for the Cardinals Tuesday night were seniors Kayla Chapman, Konnor Sudmann, and Sydni Huisman, junior Tori Castle, and sophomore Mandy Stogdill. The girls finished the first quarter in the lead 13-2. Sudmann put 9 points on the board in the first quarter. Stogdill added 3, and Chapman put in a free throw.


Entering the second quarter Castle put up her first 3 points, and Chapman putting two more 3’s on the board as well. The Cards at half time were led 32-5.


“Kayla was on the free throw line a lot, because it was such an aggressive game and she did so good!” sophomore Stogdill said.


Sudmann hit a 3-point buzzer beater at the end of the third quarter, putting them up 47-17. Sudmann also the KMA Player of the Game with the most points.


The Cards finished the 4th quarter with seniors Gracie Hansen, and sophomore Bri Chaussee in the game. Hansen had a 3 and Chaussee 2 pts with a lay-up.
