On friday the 4th at Treynor high school the undefeated Treynor cardinals demolished  for the lady bulldogs girls basketball team. This game just another one as they are storming their way through the the district as their eyes are still on that state championship trophy.

What are you doing before a game like this when you know your opponent isn’t as high level of playing as you? “I tell my girls the same thing every time before we go out and play. We know that we are the better team and to not play down to the level of the team we are playing. We just have to keep doing what we are doing and not let their level of playing bring us down.”

The game starts out at a 15-0 lead for the cards in the first with 5 minutes to go in the first quarter, and senior chapman has already scored 7 points. It is very clear to everyone how the game is going to end up, but that doesn’t change the cards determination of winning.

The score is now 46-5 with two minutes left to go in the first half, and as the looks of it the treynor girls have not stepped off the pettle. At half time it is now 50-5 and chapman with 13, sudman with 11, stogdill with 9, carman with 7, and then huisman with 6.

As a senior you have a leadership role and with that you have too look at how your team did. How did you think the team performed even with putting some underclassmen in? “I think everyone executed our offensive and offensive plans well.”

After half the game is now a running clock, and for that to happen you have to be up by 35 points and the score of the game 65 – 18 at the end of the 3rd quarter. There is no possible way the lady bulldogs can come back from this lead.

At the end of the game all of the seniors on the team have scored points, and they destroyed the lady bulldogs. Final score was 80-29 and your leading scorer of the night was senior sydney carman with 14 total points on the night
