  1. The number of miles that separates two great football teams. On Friday night, the undefeated Eagles of Underwood traveled 15 miles to take on another undefeated team in Treynor. Two great, undefeated, and ranked teams going against each other makes one great night of football, and that’s exactly what it was.

The Cardinals came out on top 24-20 making them 6-0 on the season and dropping Underwood to 5-1. Treynor was led by senior standout, Jake Fisher, who had 107 passing yards, a passing TD, 39 rushing yards, and a rushing TD. Jack Tiarks, who’s being recruited by Iowa State, rushed for 98 yards on 24 carries for a TD. However, the Player of the Game, was Luke Mieska, who kicked a 32 yard FG, had 2 interceptions, and 4.5 total tackles. The Cardinal defense stepped up Friday night, only allowing Underwood’s up-tempo passing offense to only 20 points. The defense was led by Ben Boese and Chase Reber with 7 total tackles each. The Cardinals also had 5 takeaways with 4 interceptions and a fumble recovery.
