Volleyball: Cards fall short vs. Underwood

Quinn Navara

The Cardinal volleyball team battled with the 2A #7 Underwood through five sets last Tuesday. The Cardinals came out of the gates, winning the first two sets 25-23 in both sets. Then in the third set, the Eagles took over with a 25-19 win. The young, inexperienced Cardinals then lost the next two sets 25-18 and 15-9.

Treynor was led by sophomore standouts, Kailey Rocholz (15 kills) and Maddie Lewis (11 kills). The Cardinals also had a solid night at the service line with 4 players having three or more aces. Meanwhile, the Eagles were led by juniors, Macy Vanfossan (21 kills) and Zoe Rus (19 kills). Leslie Foote-Morales, Underwood’s libero, also had a standout night with 20 digs.
