On Friday, September 6th, Treynor played their first home football game against St. Albert. The Cardinals crushed the Falcons, finishing the game 42-14. Jake Fisher and Jack Tiarks were both awarded the KMA Co-Players of the Game. Fisher finished the game with a perfect 6-of-6 passing for 99 yards and two touchdowns, while carrying the ball 21 times for 192 yards and three rushing touchdowns. Tiarks, a Division 1 recruit, was also exciting with 81 rushing yards on only 9 carries and one touchdown.
Chase Reber was beneficial for the Cardinals the whole night. Reber finished the night with 137 yards on 21 carries. St. Albert’s defense couldn’t stop Treynor’s dominant rushing attack the whole night. Treynor’s defense also made a statement Friday night by not allowing the Falcons to score in the second half. The defensive line of Treynor dominated the St. Albert’s offensive line every snap of the game.
The atmosphere at the game was one of excitement. The stands exploded whenever the Cardinals scored a touchdown. The theme for the game was USA night, so there was lots of red, white, and blue in the Treynor stands.
Treynor moves to 2-0 on the season with wins over Logan-Magnolia and now St. Albert. The Cardinals take on the Shenandoah Mustangs on a homecoming night showdown.
