As the 2019 softball season approaches, the Cardinal soft ball team is getting more excited for their favorite time of year, with warm weather and long days on the diamond.

The seniors this year are Jordan Finnegan, Alexis Kellar, Reagan Darrah, Jessica Vohs, Sydni Huisman, and joining them this year is Konnor Sudmann.

Huisman has been pitching for the past four years,  Darrah will be at first base, Kellar and Finnegan will be in the outfield, Bella Dingus a junior that’s playing with the Cardinals from Heartland Christian. Tori Castle a junior will be at third, Kennedy Elwood plays center in the outfield, and Konnor Sudmann will play shortstop or rotate in the infield.

“I’m so excited for my last season with my fellow seniors, and we are going to be so successful this year!”  Finnegan said

Joining the team this year too, are a few new freshman coming in including Anna Flemming, Josie Davidson, Kailey Rochholz and Keeley Navara.

“We are super excited, it’s always our favorite time of year!” Coach Kara Huisman said.

The girls have started doing open gyms, batting practice, catching, and pitching practices to get warm for the season.

On Tuesday, May 21st the girls kick off the first game of the season on their home field.
